I’m a Certified Usui Reiki Master Teacher, Sound Healer, Esthetician and Massage Therapist, for 22 years I have practiced and taught the traditional form of Japanese Reiki, Reiki Ryoho, including many techniques as passed on from Usui Sensei and can trace my lineage back to him. Having managed a beauty salon in Australia, I have also worked in yoga studios, health clinics and hospitals. The lymphatic system runs through the body parallel to the blood system. It consists of lymph nodes, vessels and capillaries. Lymph is a liquid that circulates throughout the body. It carries toxins and waste products that need to be eliminated from the body, for a healthy functioning body. The lymphatic system also plays an important role for the immune system. It produces and transports the lymphocytes that are essential in the destruction of pathogens. Additionally the lymphatic system participates in the circulation of nutrients and hormones that are essential to the functioning of the body. Why lymphatic drainage? When the lymphatic system is clogged, we tend to swell up, because it cannot eliminate toxins properly. Lymphatic drainage helps to stimulate the circulation of the lymph to detoxify the body, hence strengthening the immune system.
